To apply for Canadian Citizenship, you must:
Being a permanent resident (PR)
Have lived in Canada as a PR for at least 1,095 days in the 5 years preceding your application
Provide proof that you can speak and write in one of Canada’s official languages (English or French).
Have deposited your taxes for at least 3 years in the last 5 years and any income tax you may owe must be paid
IRCC will return your incomplete application if you do not send acceptable proof that you have sufficient command of English or French.
